1. Introduction and Apologies
1.1 There were no apologies
2. Resolution to establish a Task and Finish group to consider the future outlook for the media in Wales
2.1 Members noted that the Committee had resolved, in private session in its last meeting, to establish a Task and Finish Group to consider the outlook for the media in Wales. The Task and Finish Group would hold its first meeting on 13 October.
3. Inquiry into Community Safety in Wales
3.1The Chair welcomed the following witnesses: Ian Arundale QPM, - ACPO Cymru, Cllr Russell Roberts - Police Authorities of Wales, Gary Bohun - Police Federation, Naomi Alleyne - WLGA, Helena Hunt - Community Safety Officer for Blaenau Gwent CBC, Jamie Marden -GMB Union and Gwylan Brinkworth - South Wales Police.
3.2 ACPO agreed to provide a note on funding anomalies across Wales.
3.3 WLGA agreed to provide a note on the possible universal duty or guidance on Police and Crime Commissioners.
4. Motion under Standing Order 17.42 to resolve to exclude the public for the remainder on the meeting
4.1 The motion was agreed.
5. Agreement of future Committee inquiry
5.1 The Committee agreed the next inquiry would investigate the provision of affordable housing in Wales.
5.2 The Committee agreed the Terms of Reference for the inquiry.
6. Budget Briefing
6.1 The Committee noted the timescales for committee consideration of the Government’s draft budget.
